INTRODUCTION

Morphology is important because it aims to understand the patterns of development that have occurred in Broadway-Fillmore, as well as what these patterns would mean for the future. This approach to existing conditions was completed out of interest by the community and their fears over future development. Residents are worried that new developments moving forward will not fit the current form of the neighborhood. Their concern is over bringing density back into their neighborhood without having new developments clash with the existing character that has developed throughout the neighborhood. This typology analysis informs us of what that existing character entails. By understanding this character, all future plans can have a greater understanding of where, why, and how certain changes can affect the neighborhood.
